Dura-ID Construction Labels

Durable Labels for Construction & Building Product Manufacturers

Construction and building product manufacturers need durable labels and tags that remain clear, legible and securely attached throughout manufacturing, storage, handling and transportation. Labels may need to withstand prolonged weathering and outdoor storage, as well as creasing, crushing, mechanical handling, irregular product shapes and difficult surfaces.

Dura-ID Solutions manufactures industrial labels and tags for demanding construction applications, providing robust solutions for product identification and traceability. From weather-resistant labels and specialist adhesive solutions to barcode and QR code labels, we can help specify the right material, adhesive and print method for your product and its environment.

Whether labels are supplied fully pre-printed or printed on demand using a thermal transfer label printer, our solutions are designed to keep important product and identification information clear and accessible throughout the supply chain.

Finding the Right Labelling Solution

Different construction products present different labelling challenges. Whether you’re trying to identify a rough concrete product, label timber packs, improve product traceability or bring label printing in-house, the right solution depends on what you’re labelling and what the identification needs to withstand.

By Product Type

By Concern

Timber & Pack Labels

Timber can be handled, bundled and stored several times before reaching a merchant or building site, making clear identification important throughout the supply chain. Timber labels, pack labels, and tags can carry information such as product type, grade, dimensions, treatment details, batch information, and barcodes.

Where applying a self-adhesive label directly to timber isn’t practical, durable tags such as Polyplas Tags provide an alternative way to keep important identification on the product or pack.

Labels for Insulation

From individual boards and sheets to rolls and packs, insulation products come in a wide range of materials, shapes and surface types. Insulation labels and tags can be used to display product identification, specifications, batch information, barcodes and other important product information throughout manufacturing and distribution.

The right solution will depend on the insulation material, packaging and how the product is stored and handled, with both self-adhesive and tagging options available for different applications.

Labels for Concrete

Rough surfaces, dust, moisture and outdoor storage can make concrete products particularly challenging to label. Standard adhesives may struggle to maintain a reliable bond, making the choice of label material and adhesive especially important.

Dura-ID Solutions offer durable concrete labels for product and batch identification, including Mattrans Extreme, developed for demanding applications requiring strong adhesion. Labels can also incorporate barcodes, QR codes and variable product information to support identification and traceability.

Brick & Block Identification

Bricks, blocks, slate and similar building products present many of the same challenges as concrete. Rough and uneven surfaces can reduce the contact available for an adhesive, while outdoor storage and repeated handling place additional demands on both the label and print.

Our brick and block labels can be specified with specialist adhesives and durable materials, such as our Dura Hi-Tac self-adhesive labels, to help identification remain securely attached and readable throughout storage, handling and distribution.

Pipes & Drainage

Pipe and drainage labels need to remain clear throughout manufacturing, storage and distribution, often while products are exposed to moisture, outdoor conditions and repeated handling.

Whether identifying individual pipes, bundled products or associated drainage components, Dura-ID can provide labels and tags for product identification and traceability. Options include Polyplas Tags and PP self-adhesive labels, alongside print-on-demand solutions for manufacturers that need to add changing product, batch or barcode information.

Labels for Roofing Products

Roofing products can vary considerably in material, shape and finish, from tiles and slate to membranes, sheets and other roofing materials. This means there isn’t one roofing label or tag suitable for every application.

Dura-ID Solutions can recommend self-adhesive labels or durable tags based on the product, its surface and how it will be stored and handled. Solutions can incorporate product specifications, batch information, barcodes, QR codes and other variable data where required.

Labels that Stay Put on Difficult Surfaces

Getting a label to stay securely attached isn’t always straightforward, particularly on construction and building products. Rough or uneven surfaces, low-surface-energy plastics, dust, moisture, and the conditions under which a label is applied can all affect how well it adheres.

Where a standard adhesive isn’t enough, high tack and permanent adhesive labels can provide the additional adhesion needed for more demanding applications. However, choosing the right solution isn’t simply about finding the strongest adhesive. The surface material, texture, application temperature, storage conditions and required lifespan all need to be considered.

Dura-ID Solutions can help match the right label material and adhesive to your product, providing durable labels that stay attached throughout handling, storage, and distribution.

Labels for Rough and Uneven Surfaces

Rough, textured and uneven surfaces can make it difficult for standard self-adhesive labels to achieve a strong bond. This is particularly common with construction products, where the material’s surface may offer fewer contact points for the adhesive.

For more demanding applications, Dura-ID offers specialist high-tack labels including Mattrans Extreme and Dura Hi-Tac labels, designed to provide greater adhesion where a standard label may struggle. These solutions can be suitable for a range of difficult surfaces and applications where labels need to remain securely attached throughout handling, storage and distribution.

The right adhesive will depend on the surface being labelled and the conditions it will encounter. Our team can help assess your application and recommend a durable label for rough or uneven surfaces based on your specific requirements.

Labels for Plactics, Metal and Other Building Products

Not every construction product has a suitable surface for a self-adhesive label. Products may be bundled together, have an irregular or heavily textured surface, or need a different method of attaching identification throughout manufacturing and distribution.

In these applications, durable tags offer an alternative for carrying important product information without relying on an adhesive bond. Dura-ID manufactures tags for demanding industrial applications, including solutions designed to withstand tearing, moisture, weathering and repeated handling.

Tags can be supplied pre-printed or designed for on-demand thermal transfer printing, allowing manufacturers to add barcodes, QR codes, batch information and other variable product data when required.

Our range includes specialist products such as Rip-Proof Tag, alongside other tag materials that can be specified according to the product, environment and method of attachment.

Weatherproof Labels for Outdoor Storage

Construction products aren’t always stored in controlled environments. They can spend weeks or months outside in timber yards, builders’ merchants, or on building sites, leaving their labels exposed to changing weather conditions.

For products stored outdoors, weatherproof labels and tags need to do more than stay attached. The material and print need to remain clear and legible so that important product, batch and traceability information can still be read when it’s needed.

UV & Weather Resistance

Prolonged exposure to sunlight, rain and moisture can cause unsuitable labels to fade, deteriorate or become difficult to read. UV- and weather-resistant labels use material and print combinations selected to withstand outdoor conditions and help maintain product identification throughout storage and distribution.

The right solution will depend on how long the product is expected to remain outdoors, the conditions it will encounter and the surface or product being identified. Dura-ID can help specify a durable label or tag suited to the individual application.

Abrasion & Handling Resistance

Weather isn’t the only challenge. Construction products are regularly stacked, moved and handled, which can leave labels exposed to rubbing, scraping and other forms of abrasion.

Choosing an abrasion-resistant label means considering both the face material and the durability of the printed information. Dura-ID can recommend materials and print combinations designed to keep labels and tags readable throughout handling, storage and transportation.

Construction Product Labels on demand

For manufacturers dealing with changing product information, batches, barcodes or quantities, having the ability to print labels on demand can provide greater flexibility and control. Instead of holding large quantities of pre-printed labels, you can add information when needed as part of your production or identification process.

Dura-ID Solutions can provide a complete industrial label printing solution, bringing together the printer, labels, ribbons and software needed to produce durable product identification in-house. We can help specify each part of the system so the finished label is suitable for both your product and the conditions it will encounter.

Industrial Label Printers

Our range of industrial label printers and thermal transfer printers allows construction product manufacturers to print durable labels and tags in-house, including barcodes, QR codes, batch numbers, serial numbers and other variable product information.

The right printer will depend on factors including label material and size, print volumes, required print quality and your production environment. Dura-ID can help specify an industrial label printer, along with compatible labels and thermal transfer ribbons, to create a complete printing solution.

Label Design & Printing Software

Label design and printing software gives manufacturers control over the information printed onto their labels and tags. From simple product identification to barcodes, QR codes, and variable data, software can help create consistent label formats while allowing information to vary across products, batches, or print runs.

Dura-ID supplies label printing software that can be used alongside our industrial printers, labels, and ribbons, helping manufacturers manage their on-demand label printing from a single, complete solution.
